I'm feeling pretty lousy. Probably going to feel that way for awhile. I've been diagnosed as a manic-depressive, and I'm on the down swing as we speak. Lets just say, things fall apart. Thats what things do. That's what things will always do. Hopefully I can get some medication soon and this won't be so hard on me, but my insurance is pretty tricky.

Since Ross was nice enough to quote me, I'm going to return the favor:

"Part of the unique structure of the community around UCB a year and a half ago was the tremendous number of opportunities to perform, most of which end up going to a relatively small number of people in the community as a whole. With no PIT and no AK, everyone was dying to get their show up at UCB. And it was a really thrilling thing to be around for a couple of weeks and to watch from afar. I watched my good friends, and through them, some total strangers, working like crazy to get their practice groups onto the stage, to get the classes they wanted with the teachers they wanted so they'd have a chance to learn this or that from someone they really respected, to mine the IRC and any other source they could get their hands on to get better, better, better. Everyone knew everyone, because everyone could be in your show, or in your practice group, or someone to go to lunch with to talk shop with."

He's talking about the sense of community in improv, and he's damn smart about it too. So go check it out, you lazy slobs.

Awesome Cross!

If this were an actual arcade game, I might have spent more time at actual arcades growing up. Check out The Brothers Chaps' latest entertainment marvel, Awesome-X. And be careful. Those Aunt Jemimah bottles are the trickiest obstacles of all.

Thoughts on Boys My Roommates Date:

So Miranda (roommate and friend-extraordinaire) is dating a boy from church. Naturally the fact that they've become an official couple means they log more hours of alone-fun-time but it always comes as a surprise to me when suddenly my friends aren't around as much anymore. Pairing off makes friendships weird. Fact of life. They try not to make it weird and they succeed pretty well, but you can't really escape that feeling of being left behind. For some people its feeling like everyone else is getting married before they are, and for others its just the problem of losing really cool friends. I'm one of the latter. I just worry about the mental stress kids in Utah are getting, worrying about the kind of relationship crap most of the United States avoids until age 30. I really don't need help thinking of things to worry about.
I knew I was applying for the wrong arts school!

For anyone else who lusts after this shirt the way I do, go here.

I've added a new blog-link (or "blinks" as I prefer to call them) for my near and dear friend Ross White. Do feel free to click on that as well. Its a riveting tale of a kingdom on the verge of destruction and the one boy who can save it. No wait, thats the story of Neverend Story. Oh well, Ross is pretty cool too.

Pirates, against all odds, still continue to amuse me

Dear Internet,

I have access to you from my very house, from this very desk where I am now sitting, at any time of day that I wish for as long as I choose. The nice man from Comcast handed me this wonderful gift after fiddling around with cables for a good 45 minutes and calling me a fine lady in an accent that resembled Chef from South Park. You are now MINE.

Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

L-E-G-A-L spells Drinking is Fun!

I've been 21 since Thursday, and frankly, I like the view from the adult side of Ageville. I can do whatever...I...want....

Within....reason..........

The other day I was walking through a store and I saw a little girls bike with pictures of Ariel all over it from The Little Mermaid. All I could think was "Why would a mermaid endorse a bike? Its not like a mermaid could actually use one." And if they could, that whole feminist metaphor about women needing men like fish need a bicycle would be quite obsolete, wouldn't it?

I had so much to say today but I've forgetten it all. Damn Damn Damn.

Why are you calling everyone Josh???

I took Lil' Debbie (Dylan to his friends) to Lagoon for a day of good wholesome fun. At some point a nice park-employed lad let us onto a ride Lil' Debbie wasn't tall enough for and we could see his nametag read "Joshua L." So we say to him "Thanks Josh!" and Lil' Debbie makes this disgruntled sigh and asks "Why are you calling EVERYONE Josh???"

Hoo ha. Did my second show for Quick Wits on Saturday and that was hella cool. Dare I say rad?
I dare.

Holy crap, man, we're everywhere!

I've just recently noticed that when the word Lobsterita (or is that a name?) is typed into a search engine, any, really, my blog is one of the first things that pops up. Thats pretty prim for a lame online journal mostly about pirates and underwear. So maybe I'll gussy the thing up a bit, add some graphics, give it an overhaul, I dunno. We'll see.

What are fruit snacks made of? The phrase "fruit snack" has to be one of the vaguest food descriptions ever. That would be like eating at a restaurant and ordering "the meat plate." Or going for coffee and having "brown drink."

Mmmmm. I could sure go for some brown drink right now.

Aaaaaaaah. Thats my sigh of relief. Yesterday I packed all my stuff, moved yet again, across town. I'm in a cute house with two of my best friends, a pink plastic flamingo, and two plaid couches so loud you need earplugs. Their names are Nessie and Scottie. (the couches, not the friends and/or flamingo)

I had my first improv show!!! Saturday night, Quick Wits Salt Lake. Much fun was had. I can't wait to claw my way back up there as soon as there's another opening in the schedule. Improv rules!
